CORREA OPPOSES GOP BUDGET THAT PUTS WAR SPENDING OVER AMERICAN FAMILIES

WASHINGTON - Today, U.S. Representative Lou Correa (CA-46) released the following statement on his 'no' vote on the latest Republican budget.

"Republicans just voted to give President Trump another $73 billion for his war in Iran - on top of the $37.5 billion we've already spent and the 18 servicemembers we've already lost. This war is driving up costs for everyone back home. Families need to be able to afford the doctor, the gas pump, healthcare, and groceries, not fund another check for another forever war overseas with no end in sight. I will not vote for a budget that fails to put the American people first."

Under Trump and Congressional Republicans, life has gotten more expensive for Americans - including in California, where:

  • families are paying $4,300 more per year for basic living expenses

  • housing costs have risen by $902

  • gas costs have risen by $433 on average per family since Trump's Iran war began

  • 300,838 Californians have lost SNAP coverage under Republicans' Big Ugly Law
