What Goes in the Red-Lidded General Waste Bin

What Goes in the Red-Lidded General Waste Bin?

October 9, 2026/by Marketing & Communications Officer

The red-lidded general waste bin is intended for items that cannot be recycled or composted through the new three-bin service.

Examples include:

  • Soft plastics
  • Nappies and wipes
  • Vacuum dust
  • Polystyrene
  • Broken ceramics

By placing recyclable and compostable materials in the correct bins, households can help reduce the volume of waste requiring landfill disposal.

Find service information, FAQs and updates at Three-Bin Kerbside Collection Service.
