October and Halloween Fun with RPCA - Events You Won't Want to Miss!

As the temperatures cool and leaves begin to turn, RPCA invites you to celebrate the season with a variety of festive October events, fun for all ages!   • Breast Cancer Awareness 5K Walk/Run
    All Ages
    Saturday, October 4, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. at Cameron Run Regional Park
    Join us for this community 5K to honor survivors and raise awareness. A heartfelt way to get active for a cause.
  • Kiddie Cabaret
    For ages 1-5 with an adult
    Saturday, October 11, 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at Charles Houston Recreation Center
    Dress up and dance to toddler tunes while enjoying refreshments and interactive fun. A great early childhood experience!
  • Line Dance Social
    Adults 18+
    Tuesday, October 14, 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Charles Houston Recreation Center
    No experience needed-just come ready to socialize and move to some fun rhythms.
  • Adult Social Night

    Friday, October 17, 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Leonard Armstrong Recreation Center
    A relaxing midweek evening with themed activities and a chance to meet neighbors. $9/person.

    Swim in and pick your pumpkin right from the pool! Plus obstacle courses and Halloween treats.
  • HalloTeen Night
    For ages 12-18
    October 31, 7-9:45 p.m. at William Ramsay Recreation Center
    End October with a Halloween party just for teens! HalloTeen Night is packed with thrills, chills, and creepy-cool activities, plus eerie entertainment, tasty treats, and maybe a few tricks.

10th Annual Spooky Mad Science Expo

Saturday, October 18, 3-7p.m. at Patrick Henry Recreation Center (4653 Taney Ave.)

Don't miss this decade-celebration of science, STEAM, and spooky delight! Hosted in partnership with Chrysalis Development Group and RPCA, this interactive event features:

  • Hands-on experiments from NASA, Smithsonian, USPTO, ACS, local robotics teams, and more
  • A costume parade and kid-friendly DJ dance party
  • Food trucks and delicious treats
  • Free admission and educational fun for all ages
