RIMS Foundation Raises Nearly $35K at RISKWORLD, Fueling the Future of Risk Management

New York (June 11, 2026) - RIMS, The Foundation for Risk Management™, (The Foundation) hosted two inaugural fundraising experiences at RISKWORLD® that generated nearly $35,000. Proceeds from the first-ever Foundation Virtual Silent Auction and the Rock the Foundation After Dark event will support expanded professional development opportunities for early-career risk professionals.

"The Foundation's recent fundraising success represents an important step toward increasing access to education, certification and career-launching opportunities for the next generation of risk professionals," said Foundation Chair Patrick Sterling. "Beyond strong participation, the events reflected a growing commitment across the global risk community to invest in its future."

Launched in 2025, The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization focused on generating funding through corporate and individual contributions to further enable RIMS to deliver resources and opportunities that empower risk professionals worldwide. With continued support, the Foundation is focused on expanding impact across four key areas:

• Access & Opportunity: Scholarships for early-career professionals to attend RIMS events;
• Career Advancement: Grants supporting RIMS-CRMP certification and professional education;
• Innovation & Insight: Funding research to advance the risk management profession;
• Community Impact: Strengthening RIMS chapters and fostering inclusivity across the field.

The inaugural Foundation for Risk Management Virtual Silent Auction was open to both RIMS members and non-members from April 24 through May 6. Auction items included entertainment and sporting experiences, travel and leisure packages, gift items, professional services, and risk management resources.

The Rock the Foundation: The RIMS Foundation for Risk management After Dark Networking Event was held on May 5 at the NOTO nightclub in Philadelphia during RISKWORLD. Open to all registered attendees, the event featured food, an open bar and live music creating a space for meaningful connection and community-building across the profession.

"The generosity of this community shows what's possible when we come together around a shared purpose. Now the work is to build on this momentum and expand our impact and unlock even greater access, more opportunities, and further strengthen this profession's future."
