Help Shape Gilbert’s 2026 Annual Action Plan at the Upcoming Public Meeting in January

Gilbert, AZ. - Gilbert is in the process of developing its 2026 Annual Action Plan (AAP) for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. This program allocates funds for housing, infrastructure, and services for low- and moderate-income residents. Each year, the Town outlines how it will utilize CDBG funds to address local needs, and community input is crucial in informing these decisions.

The Annual Action Plan is a one-year strategy that identifies priority needs, outlines projects to be funded, and aligns with the 5-Year Consolidated Plan for community development. By participating in the CDBG planning process, residents help guide the investment of federal funding in programs and services that strengthen our community.

Residents can participate by attending the first public meeting on January 14 at 5:30 PM at the Gilbert Heritage Center, 132 W. Bruce Avenue.

During this meeting, the community will discuss the needs and ideas for allocating CDBG funds. Feedback will help draft a plan. Two public hearings will feature staff presentations on projects, funding, and long-term goals, with opportunities for final comments before submitting to the Department of Housing and Urban Development.

The draft AAP will be available on the Town's website beginning January 21, 2026.
