School of Business receives six-year extension of AACSB accreditation

KOKOMO, Ind. - The Indiana University Kokomo School of Business has received a six-year extension of Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) business accreditation following its continuous improvement review. The AACSB Board of Directors ratified the recommendation, reaffirming the school's commitment to excellence in business education and continuous improvement. The next review is scheduled for the 2031-2032 academic year.

The review team recognized numerous strengths and best practices, including the School's custom web-based Assurance of Learning platform, innovative value-added assessment initiative, nationally recognized Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, the KEY Center for Innovation consulting model, the Futurecast Economic Outlook series, and the peer mentor program. Reviewers highlighted the School's commitment to experiential learning, student success, community engagement, and regional impact.

The report also noted the School's contributions to economic development and public service, noting that students gain meaningful hands-on experience while creating measurable value for the community.

Scott Jones, executive vice chancellor for academic affairs, congratulated Dean Chitti Govindarajalu and School of Business faculty and staff.

"AACSB accreditation confirms the high quality of our degrees and recognizes the excellent work of Dean Govindarajulu and the outstanding faculty of our School of Business," he said.

In addition to recognizing accomplishments, the report identified opportunities for continued advancement, including faculty expansion aligned with enrollment growth, enhanced graduate program differentiation, strengthened research productivity in selected disciplines, and expanded assessment and advisory board documentation.

According to Govindarajulu, this outcome reflects the dedication of faculty, staff, students, alumni, advisory board members, and community partners who continue to advance the School's mission and reputation throughout the region.

AACSB accreditation is widely regarded as the highest standard of quality in business education and is held by fewer than 5 percent of business schools worldwide.
