WVDOT to host public workshop for Marshall County road widening

The West Virginia Department of Transportation (WVDOT) will host a public informational workshop from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 26, 2026, to discuss the proposed widening of Cameron Road in Marshall County.

The workshop will be held in the Cameron High School cafeteria, located at 2012 Blue and Gold Road in Cameron.

The meeting will follow an open-house format rather than a traditional town hall. There will be no formal presentation, allowing residents to arrive at any time during the three-hour window to review project maps, speak with engineers and submit feedback.

The project is designed to improve traffic flow and safety along the regional corridor. WVDOT officials will be available to present design alternatives and gather local insights during the early stages of development.

The WVDOT is seeking specific input on how construction might affect the environment under the National Environmental Policy Act. Officials are also requesting feedback regarding local historical resources in accordance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act.

Those unable to attend may view project handouts and digital comment forms on the WVDOT public comments webpage after the meeting is held.

Written comments will be accepted through Sunday, April 26, 2026. Correspondence may be mailed to:
