Seven Juveniles Arrested From Two Stolen Vehicles Monday In Rutherford County

A multi-agency effort to stop two stolen vehicles seen driving erratically in Nashville on Monday led to the apprehension of seven juveniles in Rutherford County. Vehicle Crimes Unit detectives first spotted a stolen Kia Optima in Hermitage before MNPD Aviation noticed it was traveling at a high rate of speed alongside a stolen Hyundai Sonata.

Both vehicles continued to drive at dangerous speeds, disobeying traffic signals and, at times, going into oncoming traffic while entering Rutherford County.

MNPD detectives coordinated with LaVergne and Smyrna Police Departments and both vehicles were stopped.
LaVergne Police Department arrested the two 14-year-old occupants of the Kia. Both will be charged in Rutherford County.
MNPD and Smyrna Police were able to arrest all five juvenile occupants (ages 10, two 13, 14 and 15) of the Hyundai. All five were charged in Juvenile Court with vehicle theft and will face additional charges in Rutherford County.
