With farmers facing the prospect of an unprofitable harvest this fall, U.S. Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins said the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is working to provide relief from high input costs, slumping prices and increased market volatility.
In remarks at the Kansas City Agricultural Business Council Ag Outlook Forum last week, Rollins said the USDA is investigating the rising costs of agricultural inputs, purchasing commodities for international food aid programs and expediting reĀmaining economic and disaster aid payments to help struggling farmers.
