Join us in discovering Walker Street Gallery and Arts Centre's newest exhibition that fuses art, sight and sound in one.
Tashabok will immerse you into the complex narratives of migration, and the invisible threads linking objects, bodies, personal narratives, and labour.
Artist Azza Zein wants to challenge visitors to reconsider how they understand both the physical and emotional environments of displacement. The artist wants us to question the narratives about migration, offering an alternative view that emphasises the complexity and interconnectedness of human experience.
See the exhibition as it unfolds through a series of distinct but interrelated works that include drawings on paper, video installations, a collaborative sculpture, an interactive wall, and the use of organic materials such as soil and bentonite. These elements come together to create a visual experience inviting the viewer to reflect on themes of migration and displacement.
Tashabok will run from Tuesday 10 December to Friday 28 February at the Walker Street Gallery and Arts Centre.
