Request for Applications - Private Fleet Diesel Electrification and Low-NOx

DOEE seeks to select and replace District-registered class 4+ medium- or heavy-duty diesel-powered vehicles with zero-emission vehicle equivalents when these replacements will have a significant community benefit. Vehicles must be registered in the District to be eligible for replacement. The number and amount of grants will vary depending on the Department's review of the applications. The amount available for the project is $2,396,457.

The deadline for application submissions is August 30, 2025. The online application must be time-stamped by 11:59 p.m. on the date the application is due.

Eligibility: The institutions below may apply for these grant funds:

  • Nonprofit organizations, including those with IRS 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(4) determinations;
  • Faith-based organizations;
  • Universities/educational institutions; and
  • Private Enterprises
