Government declares a state of alert in Portugal due to high temperatures

The Portuguese Prime Minister announced on X that "due to the high temperatures in the country, we have decided to declare a state of alert. I will follow the situation's evolution thoroughly".

Just as Luís Montenegro cautions, "each one of us is responsible for prevention and playing their part".

The Prime Minister also asks that "everyone respect the indications issued by the authorities. We are all necessary to protect our community and our territory."
