Mayfest Event Postponed Due to Severe Weather Threat

The City of Montgomery Parks and Recreation Department has postponed the upcoming Mayfest event originally scheduled for Saturday, May 23, 2026, due to the potential for severe weather in the area. The safety of participants, staff, and community members remains the department's top priority.

Mayfest-designed as a high-energy kickoff to summer for teens ages 13-18-was set to take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Gunter Pool, located at 2390 Cong W L Dickinson Drive. The event was expected to feature a live DJ, games, swimming, refreshments, and special attractions, along with the pool's standard safety guidelines and dress code requirements.

A new date and time for Mayfest will be announced as soon as it is determined. City officials encourage the public to stay connected through official communication channels for updates.
