AIA: Supplemental Strengthens Defense Industrial Base

Arlington, Va. - Aerospace Industries Association President and CEO Eric Fanning today responded to the Administration's supplemental request, which will make significant investments into the defense industrial base and help speed up production and acquisition of critical technologies.

"Defense industry leaders have made it clear that we will rise to the occasion: turning on manufacturing lines to increase production and speeding up delivery to ensure our warfighters maintain a decisive advantage," Fanning said.

"The supplemental request puts the resources in place to ensure that industry can sustain this higher rate of production, and we support its immediate passage. However, we cannot lose sight of what's needed to send clear demand signals from Congress and the Pentagon: consistent annual appropriations and commitments to long-term contracts."
