Yaw, Rowe Announce Funding for Lewisburg Recreation Project

HARRISBURG - State Sen. Gene Yaw (R-23) and State Rep. David Rowe (R-85) today announced $61,625 has been awarded to the Buffalo Valley Recreation Authority for upgrades to the Lewisburg Recreation Park in Union County. The award was considered at today's Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) meeting and approved through the Authority's Local Share Account (LSA) statewide program.

"Investing in our local parks and recreation facilities enhances quality of life and strengthens our communities," Yaw said. "These improvements will provide families and residents with safe, modern spaces to enjoy for years to come and I'm thankful to Rep. Rowe for working with me to secure this funding."

"Upgrading gym equipment will make a real difference for the kids and families who use the local recreation facilities," Rowe said. "I appreciate working with Sen. Yaw and the CFA to support improvements that strengthen our community and promote community health."

Funding awarded today will be used for the purchase of gym equipment, including a new balance beam, pommel horse, vault table, tension bar, parallel bars, mats and pads. These improvements will provide increased safety, a better user experience and more opportunities for community involvement.

Local Share Account funds are generated by the PA Race Horse Development and Gaming Act (Act 71 of 2004), which provides for distributing gaming revenues through the CFA to support projects in the public interest within Pennsylvania.
