Juneteenth Celebration in Dodge Park
Sterling Heights hosted its 4th annual Juneteenth celebration on Thursday, June 19, with a day of community, culture, and reflection at Dodge Park. The Farmers Market spotlighted nearly 30 Black-owned businesses and organizations, followed by hustle dance lessons during Patios 'n' Pints. The evening closed with a Motown tribute by The Prolifics on the amphitheater stage.
Wifi in the Park
We're logging into a new era of connection in Sterling Heights! Free public WiFi is now available throughout the City Center, from the 41-A District Court building to the lower bowl of Dodge Park, the Senior Center, Community Center, and everywhere in between.
Whether you're on the courts, dancing your heart out at Music in the Park, or posting your favorite Sterlingfest moments, staying connected just got easier. Generously sponsored by Christian Financial Credit Union- helping us stay connected while we're out making memories.
Juneteenth at the Sterling Heights Public Library
This Juneteenth, we came together to celebrate resilience, joy, and Black history. Thank you to Huron-Clinton Metroparks for sponsoring a powerful day filled with a soul food experience, meaningful crafts, and a Juneteenth book giveaway at the library. Special thanks to Abigail School of Dance in Detroit for leading an inspiring dance workshop that moved our bodies and spirits.

Rooted in Word
The Sterling Heights Public Library's new "Rooted in Word" pillar art has been officially unveiled, transforming the walkway between the Library and Police Department into a vibrant and inviting gathering space.
Each pillar, painted by Tatum Lorway, highlights a different book genre while celebrating the Library's values of exploration, learning, self-growth, sustainability, and inclusion. The installation also features a beautifully painted book bench by Wendy Popko, completing this colorful tribute to the power of stories and community.
Love, Pride and Community
Sterling Heights is proud to be a community where everyone belongs. On June 6, in celebration of Pride Month, City Council, Administration, and community members came together at City Hall for a pride flag raising ceremony-a powerful symbol of our commitment to love, inclusion, and the vibrant diversity that enriches our city.
As we continue to grow together, we reaffirm that everyone deserves to feel seen, valued, and welcomed. By embracing each other's unique identities and experiences, we build a stronger, more compassionate community for all.
Delia Goes to the Dogs
Delia Park went to the dogs on June 6 for the ulti-mutt pawty! Pups of all sizes enjoyed frisbee shows, dancing dogs, giveaways, and even adoptions. Local vendors and the City Clerk's office shared helpful resources-including info on the Dog License Amnesty Program running through June 30. It was a paw-some night for the whole family!
Bocce Barn
Get your game on at the Bocce Barn, located behind the Senior Center. This accessible space features two full-sized courts where you can enjoy different games like bocce ball, ladder ball, cornhole, and putting around. Drop-in hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 5 to 9 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Bocce Barn is also available to rent for private events and gatherings.
