From Education Scholarships to MSMEs, PT Timah Brings Real Benefits to Communities in Its Operational Areas

PANGKALPINANG -- PT Timah Tbk continues to promote community welfare through the implementation of its Community Development and Empowerment Program (PPM). This program is one of the company's tangible commitments to social responsibility in its operational areas.

PT Timah's PPM program covers various sectors, including education, environment, community economic development, and community empowerment based on local potential.

In education, several initiatives have been implemented, such as scholarships for Pemali Boarding School, higher education scholarships, teacher literacy programs, education for people with disabilities, and the "Gerakan Cermat" literacy movement.

In addition, PT Timah also runs various programs to empower coastal communities, including coral garden projects, mangrove planting, squid attractor installations, and others.

In the health sector, PT Timah provides free healthcare services through its Mobile Health Service, aimed at improving the quality of life and making healthcare more accessible to communities.

To boost local economies, PT Timah consistently supports MSME development in its operational areas through the PUMK program and by providing production equipment assistance.

Through PPM, PT Timah not only contributes economically but also enhances the overall quality of life for surrounding communities.

One of the beneficiaries of PT Timah's education support is Nabila, a student from Bangka Belitung. Starting as a scholarship recipient at PT Timah's Pemali Boarding School (PBS), she has now successfully continued her studies at Bangka Belitung University (UBB).

During their time at Pemali Boarding School, Nabila and Aprilia received full support from PT Timah, covering both learning facilities and daily needs. Even after graduation, the support continued with assistance for their college education.

"For three years at Pemali Boarding School, we didn't spend a single cent. Now in college, PT Timah still supports us. This assistance means a lot," said Nabila.

Through the implementation of PPM, PT Timah hopes to build harmonious relationships with communities while contributing to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
