Residents can learn about landlord-tenant laws, housing protections and available community resources at a free Renter Rights 101 workshop Wednesday, June 17 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Pikes Peak Library District's Fountain Library, 230 S. Main St., Fountain, and online.
The workshop is designed to help renters better understand their rights and responsibilities, navigate common housing issues and connect with organizations that support housing stability throughout the Pikes Peak region.
Led by Colorado Legal Services attorney Clinton Albert, the session will cover lease basics, reasonable accommodations and modifications, security deposits, repairs and eviction processes. Participants will also learn about local housing and legal resources available in the community. A question-and-answer session will follow the presentation. Presenters cannot provide legal advice for individual situations.
To register or join the meeting virtually, visit ColoradoSprings.gov/Renter-Rights. Optional registration allows participants to receive a copy of the presentation slides and a recording of the workshop following the event.
The workshop is presented by the City of Colorado Springs Housing and Homelessness Response Department in partnership with Colorado Legal Services and community organizations.
