The University of Toledo Medical Center has again been recognized by the American Heart Association for its commitment to following up-to-date, research-based guidelines for the treatment of heart disease and stroke - helping save lives, support recovery and reduce hospital readmissions. For 2026, UTMC earned two American Heart Association Get With The Guidelines quality achievement awards: Heart Failure Gold Plus and Stroke Gold Plus.

The Heart Failure Gold Plus award included the Target: Heart Failure Optimal and Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll recognitions. UTMC's Stroke Gold Plus award included the Target: Stroke Honor Roll and Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll recognitions. By earning the Get With The Guidelines awards, UTMC has demonstrated its commitment to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care designed to improve patient outcomes, support recovery and help patients live healthier lives.
