LEE'S SUMMIT, MO - The Missouri Department of Transportation will be performing maintenance work throughout the Kansas City region from August 17 through 21. All work is weather permitting.
CLAY COUNTY
U.S. Route 169 northbound near the Downtown Airport (between airport off-ramp and Richards Rd. on-ramp): short-duration closure on Monday, Aug. 17 from approximately 8 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. for brush removal.
JACKSON COUNTY
Interstate 35 near Interstate 670 and 12th St.: various closures from Tuesday, Aug. 18 until Friday, Aug. 21 from approximately 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. daily, for brush removal work.
Interstate 70 westbound: various lane closures for barrier wall repair.
JOHNSON COUNTY
Route PP: road closed for pavement overlay work from approximately 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. daily.
Route EE: road closed for pavement overlay work from approximately 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. daily.
LAFAYETTE COUNTY
North Outer Rd. between Route T and Hulver Rd.: flagging operations with a pilot car on Monday, Aug. 17 and Tuesday, Aug. 18, from approximately 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. daily, for pavement repair work.
Route D at Route FF: flagging operations on Tuesday, Aug. 18, from approximately 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., for pavement work.
Route 23 between SE 15th St. and Route CC: flagging operations with pilot cars on Wednesday, Aug. 19 and Thursday, Aug. 20, from approximately 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. daily, for pavement repair work.
PLATTE COUNTY
Route B between Missouri Route 92 and Route Z in Edgerton: flagging operations from Monday, Aug. 17 through Tuesday, Aug. 18, from approximately 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. daily, for pavement work.
Route C between Interstate 435 and Missouri Highway 92: flagging operations on Monday, Aug. 17 and Tuesday, Aug. 18, from approximately 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. daily, for pavement work.
Route KK just east of U.S. Route 169: flagging operations on Monday, Aug. 17 and Tuesday, Aug. 18, from approximately 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. daily, for pavement repair.
Route N at various locations: flagging operations from Tuesday, Aug. 18 until Thursday, Aug. 20, from approximately 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. daily, for pavement repair.
Route P at various locations: flagging operations from Tuesday, Aug. 18 until Thursday, Aug. 20, from approximately 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. daily, for pavement repair.
SALINE COUNTY
Interstate 70 North Outer Rd.: flagging operations at various locations for seal coating
Route ZZ between Missouri Route 127 and end of state maintenance: flagging operations on Wednesday, Aug. 19 and Thursday, Aug. 20, from approximately 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. daily, for seal coating.
MoDOT maintenance crews often perform other tasks throughout the work week such as pothole patching, litter pick-up, sign repairs, brush cutting, and other operations that are not included above as they pose limited impacts to traffic.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
