Statement: GPA Midstream Supports House Passage of Home Appliance Protection and Affordability Act

A Statement from GPA Midstream:

GPA Midstream applauds the U.S. House of Representatives passage of H.R. 4626, the Home Appliance Protection and Affordability Act. The legislation amends the Energy Policy and Conservation Act to:

  • Maintain consumer choice: By not imposing standards that force people to switch fuels (like natural gas or propane to electric).
  • Ensure affordability: Standards would have to be practical and economically justified.
  • Add transparency: DOE would be required to show the real-world impact of new rules.

Thanks to Rep. Rick Allen (R-GA-12) for leading the effort to get this important legislation passed. GPA Midstream supports regulations that allow Americans to access the appliances that best fits their needs. All forms of energy, including natural gas and propane, should be allowed to energize the appliances in our homes and businesses. H.R. 4626 ensures a balanced, practical approach for appliance energy efficiency regulations.

GPA Midstream looks forward to working with members of the United States Senate to pass the Home Appliance Protection and Affordability Act and send the bill to President Trump for his signature.
