HARRISBURG - State Sen. Gene Yaw (R-23) and State Rep. Joe Hamm (R-84) today announced $1,144,620 in state funding has been awarded to community improvement and economic development projects in Lycoming and Sullivan counties. The awards were considered at today's Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) meeting and approved through the Authority's Local Share Account (LSA) statewide program.
"The awards announced today will be incredibly impactful for our communities by funding important equipment purchases, construction projects and public safety improvements," Yaw said. "Local governments often operate with tight budgets, and these investments will make a real difference. I'm thankful to Rep. Hamm for working with me to secure this funding."
"I was pleased to strongly support these grant requests to enhance public safety and municipal services in the 84th District," Hamm said. "Local government is closest to the people, and I will always do what I can to help them do their jobs. I appreciate working with Sen. Yaw to ensure these dollars will come back to our rural communities."
The following projects were awarded funding:
Lycoming County
Sullivan County
Local Share Account funds are generated by the PA Race Horse Development and Gaming Act (Act 71 of 2004), which provides for distributing gaming revenues through the CFA to support projects in the public interest within Pennsylvania.
