Prevention Saves Lives
Yesterday, I was honored to receive the Special Recognition Award at the Congressional Families Program's 33rd Annual Action for Cancer Awareness Awards. Cancer touches every family, and this bipartisan gathering brought together leaders committed to improving prevention, expanding early detection and supporting those confronting a diagnosis.

For more than three decades, the Congressional Families Program and Prevent Cancer Foundation have empowered Members of Congress and their families to share lifesaving information in communities across the country. By raising awareness and helping more Americans access screenings, we can detect cancer earlier, improve outcomes and save lives.

Pitching In
This week, I had the joy of cheering on the women of Congress and the press corps at the annual Congressional Women's Softball Game. While the competition was spirited, everyone came together around a cause far greater than the final score: supporting young adults facing breast cancer.

The game benefits the Young Survival Coalition and its vital work providing resources, support and community to young people navigating a breast cancer diagnosis. Together, players and fans once again showed the power of teamwork to bring hope and make a difference.

Mikulski Milestone
This week, I had the joy of celebrating former Senator Barbara Mikulski's 90th birthday alongside friends and former colleagues. From Baltimore's neighborhoods to the halls of Congress, Barbara has devoted her life to fighting for working families and giving a powerful voice to those too often overlooked.

A trailblazer in every sense, Barbara shattered ceilings and inspired generations of women to pursue public service. Her courage, compassion and unmistakable spirit continue to make our country stronger-and it was wonderful to celebrate the extraordinary life she has led.
