State Representative Patrick Sheehan joined Mary Ann Ahern on NBC 5 this week to talk about Democrat politicians' push to "Abolish ICE".
"There is a lot of "Abolish ICE" talk, which sounds alot like "Defund the Police" and we saw how that worked out.
Our citizens demand public safety. Our citizens demand law and order. I think our democrat colleagues are, again, on the wrong side of this issue."
Illinoisans are facing higher costs on everything from their power bill to their property taxes. Families and seniors cannot afford another $14 or $28 increase on their water service alone. I understand that aging water infrastructure must be upgraded, but this seems like an unreasonable rate hike.
I am working with consumer advocates and concerned citizens to understand how we can provide more oversight and transparency around this proposal.
State Representative Patrick Sheehan is encouraging senior homeowners to take advantage of the Senior Citizens Real Estate Tax Deferral Program that was expanded through legislation passed during the fall 2025 Veto Session.
"I am encouraging all seniors to take advantage of the expanded senior property tax exemption that we passed during Veto Session," said Rep. Sheehan. "Now, more seniors will be eligible for property tax relief, something that House Republicans have been adamant about providing. We owe it to all Illinoisans to prioritize affordability and accountability, and this is a good start."
This Valentine's Day season, State Representative Patrick Sheehan is inviting the community to help brighten the day of local seniors with his "Valentines for Seniors" card drive.
Running through February 9, the drive encourages residents of all ages to write heartfelt messages of love and kindness to area senior citizens.
Team Sheehan was honored to recognize EggCetera Cafe in Mokena as the Local Business of the Month for the 37th District.
This business proudly owned and operated by the Bastis family.
Thank you for serving our community with great food, friendly service, and a true small-business spirit.
