Allegheny County- January 20, 2026 - Today, State Senator Wayne Fontana announced grants totaling $3,032,811 were awarded to municipalities and public authorities in the 42nd Senatorial District.
"Clean water continues to be a priority of mine," said Sen. Fontana. "Much of the sewer and storm water infrastructure in our communities is over 100 years old and can too easily be overwhelmed, resulting in pollution of our streams and rivers. The projects this money will help fund will directly result in cleaner water and healthier waterways throughout Western Pennsylvania."
Grant awardees in the 42nd Senatorial District include:

Avalon Borough received $350,000 for sanitary sewer structural repairs.

Bellevue Borough received $408,684 for stormwater improvements on North Jackson Avenue

Carnegie Borough received $100,000 towards its sewer system rehabilitation

Dormont Stormwater Authority received $100,000 for stormwater improvements at Dormont Park

Emsworth Borough received $197,150 for repairs to Spring Street sewer

Green Tree Borough received $425,000 for the storm sewer improvements at Holiday Drive and Mansfield Avenue

Ingram Borough received $50,000 for storm sewer replacement on Winlock Avenue

Kennedy Township received $150,000 for the Ewing Road sewage lift station replacement

McKees Rocks Borough received $126,977 for sanitary sewer repairs

Mt. Lebanon received $50,000 towards the Sleepy Hallow sanitary sewer re-route project

Neville Township received $75,000 towards a waterline replacement on Pine Road

Reserve Township received $500,000 to extend the waterline on Mount Troy Road

Scott Township received $250,000 for replacement of defective sanitary sewers and $150,000 for televising and cleaning projects

Stowe Township received $100,000 for the Neville Road sanitary sewer replacement project
The Pennsylvania General Assembly created the PA Small Water and Sewer Program in 2016 to provide municipalities and municipal authorities funding for water, sewer, storm water, and flood control projects that cost between $30,000 and $500,000. The program is administered by the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA).
