Support in our community this holiday season - Randwick City Council

While the holiday period can be filled with joy and celebration, it can also be a time of added worry and hardship for many local residents. With cost-of-living pressures, housing concerns, relationship stress and other challenges amplified at this time of year, reaching out for support can make all the difference.

Randwick City Council and local partner organisations offer a range of support services and information to help community members through difficult times - from practical assistance to health, wellbeing and social connection.

Community Support Services Available

Our Community Support hub brings together information, referrals and practical assistance across a number of key areas, including:

The Hub@Lexo
A welcoming community space in South Maroubra offering access to support services, information and referrals, free Wi-Fi and computer access, pantry items, community programs, and connections to local health, legal and wellbeing services.

Food Programs
Local organisations provide free meals and food support at regular times and locations across the LGA. These programs offer vital nourishment and community connection to anyone in need.

Housing Assistance & Homelessness Support
Council facilitates access to housing support and referrals, including information on affordable rental options and homelessness pathways.

Domestic Violence & Safety Support
Access 24/7 helplines, counselling and referral services for people impacted by domestic or family violence, including specialised support for diverse community members.

Resilience & Community Safety Resources
Information on community safety, emergency preparedness and resilience initiatives that help strengthen wellbeing and confidence in times of stress.

Other supports include referrals for legal help, youth and family wellbeing services, and connections to local healthcare, transport assistance and community programs.
