Update to Opioid Treatment Program Service Rates

The South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS) is increasing the reimbursement rate for opioid treatment programs (OTP). Effective for dates of service on or after Oct. 1, 2025, SCDHHS will update the reimbursement rate for State Plan-covered OTP services.

OTPs provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for people diagnosed with an opioid use disorder. These services must be provided in a Drug Enforcement Administration-approved, and Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration-accredited clinic-based setting.

SCDHHS will update the Opioid Treatment Programs Fee Schedule by Oct. 1, 2025, to reflect the following rate increases:

Procedure Code Description Current Rate Rate Effective Oct. 1, 2025
G2067 MAT-Methadone, weekly bundle $102.04 $193.60
G2068 MAT-Buprenorphine, weekly bundle, oral $133.76 $213.03

South Carolina's Medicaid managed care organizations (MCOs) are responsible for the authorizations, coverage and reimbursement related to the services described in this bulletin for members enrolled in an MCO.

Providers should direct questions related to this bulletin to the Provider Service Center (PSC). PSC representatives can be reached at (888) 289-0709 from 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday.
