Criminal Investigation Seminar brings together 25 participants from Puntland law enforcement institutions

From 12-16 April in Bossaso, EUCAP Somalia delivered a Criminal Investigation Seminar, bringing together 25 participants (11 women and 14 men) from key Puntland law enforcement institutions.

The training strengthened expertise in Somali criminal procedure, evidence handling, and forensic crime scene investigation through a mix of practical exercises and expert-led sessions. Participants enhanced core skills in suspect apprehension, evidence collection and preservation, and the application of due process and human rights standards. The seminar also reinforced coordination among Puntland law enforcement agencies, contributing to more effective and unified investigative practices.

Through its Field Office, the Mission remains committed to promoting gender-balanced capacity building, supporting the rule of law, and advancing criminal investigation capabilities across Puntland.
