Industrial Gas Program for CENTCOM

DLA Weapons Support (Richmond) awarded an industrial gas support contract to Inchcape to supply industrial compressed gases to Military and Federal activities in the Central Command (CENTCOM) Southwest Asia Theater of Operations.

The CENTCOM Industrial Gas Program includes:

• Supplying various types and grades of compressed and liquified gases in a variety of cylinder sizes.
• Delivering full cylinders to the customer's site in most cases.
• Picking up empty cylinders from the customer's site in most cases.

DLA Weapons Support (Richmond) provides industrial compressed gas cylinders, each with a unique National Stock Number (NSN), for various product classes, grades, gas purity levels, service pressures, Department of War (DOW) cylinder specifications, capacities, and sizes. The relationship between the NSN and their empty cylinder counterpart is illustrated on the National Stock Number cross-reference table.

A full cylinder consists of a cylinder complete with valve, filled to a standard capacity with a specified product. A full cylinder can be received in Government Furnished Property (GFP) cylinders that must be returned to the contractor if repairable or in a disposable cylinder.

Customers are encouraged to return empty GFP cylinders as soon as possible for refurbishment and filling for the next customer. Holding onto cylinders can delay delivery for subsequent customers.
