Several 24/7 naloxone distribution boxes are now available at various Boone County locations. The boxes resemble a newspaper stand but without the need to pay. Each box contains free naloxone for anyone to take and use in the event of an overdose. Boxes will be refilled on a weekly or as-needed basis.
The location of each box is as follows:
To learn how to use naloxone, community members can attend one of the monthly SAVE-A-LIFE Naloxone Education and Distribution events. The next SAVE-A-LIFE will be held Tuesday, May 26 from 12-1 p.m. at The Blue Note, 17 N 9th St, Columbia.
This project is funded by contract 5H79TI086392-03 between Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.
