Samsung Art Store and Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, Simultaneously Launch New Collection In-Person and on Art TVs

Samsung Art Store announced today it is partnering with the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (MFA), to launch a curated collection that coincides with the museum's new exhibition, Of Light and Air: Winslow Homer in Watercolor. For the first time, a Samsung Art Store collection will debut select works from a museum exhibition at the same time as a physical museum exhibition, allowing art enthusiasts to experience the works both in-gallery and at home.

The collection debuts on the Samsung Art Store today, available to subscribers across several cutting-edge Samsung screens, including The Frame Pro, The Frame and more from the #1 global TV brand1. Across every Samsung Art TV, you'll experience Winslow Homer's celebrated watercolors displayed in stunning 4K clarity, with premium features that ensure art and entertainment always look their best.

This collaboration marks an innovative moment in how audiences engage with museum exhibitions. As visitors explore the MFA's world-leading collection of Homer watercolors-displayed for the first time in nearly half a century-Samsung Art Store subscribers can bring these same works into their own homes, extending the museum experience beyond gallery walls.

"We are pleased to bring select works from the MFA's Of Light and Air: Winslow Homer in Watercolor exhibition to a global audience, as the Art Store's first-ever live exhibition," said Kyle Menges, Director of Business Development at Samsung. "While nothing can replace experiencing art in person, we look forward to bringing a glimpse of this monumental curation into living rooms worldwide."

The MFA houses the largest collection of Homer's watercolors in the world. However, due to the works' fragility and sensitivity to light, they have not been displayed together for half a century. Of Light and Air: Winslow Homer in Watercolor presents a rare opportunity to experience dozens of these luminous works, transporting viewers to the rugged Maine coast, the Adirondack Mountains, seaside England, sun-drenched Caribbean waters, and beyond.

"This partnership with Samsung allows us to reach audiences far beyond our walls and share Homer's extraordinary artistry with art lovers everywhere," said Debra LaKind, Senior Director of Intellectual Property and Business Development at the MFA. "We're excited to explore how museums and technology can work together to broaden access to great art."

Writer Henry James famously described Homer as an artist "who sees everything at once with its envelope of light and air"-a fitting description of a painter who utilized the unique qualities of watercolor to capture the ephemeral, fleeting nature of his subject matter. Through his relentless spirit of experimentation, Homer transformed the medium of watercolor, pioneering innovative techniques that continue to captivate audiences today.

Samsung Art Store's Of Light and Air: Winslow Homer in Watercolor collection showcases works ranging from the serene waters in Homer's iconic The Blue Boat (1892) to the drama of Breaking Wave (Prout's Neck) (1887). Designed with several art-enhancing features, The Frame Pro and The Frame will display these works in spectacular 4K detail, offering a precise, lifelike picture that reveals even the most subtle color gradations and delicate brushwork that define Homer's mastery.

As our most advanced Art TV yet, The Frame Pro adds a Neo QLED 4K display, leveraging mini LEDs and precise lighting control for even more immersive viewing, whether admiring art or watching your favorite show. This enhanced picture is paired with the new Wireless One Connect Box2 for seamless, cable-free installation and easy mounting, so nothing distracts from your showstopping display.

Both The Frame Pro and The Frame feature ArtfulColor validation from Pantone3, displaying every nuance of Homer's watercolors with breathtaking color and clarity. Plus, their Anti-Reflection with Matte Displays minimize glare for a realistic, museum-like look. The TVs even hang flush against the wall like framed artwork with customizable bezels4 to complement any home décor.

And new in 2025, Samsung Art Store has expanded to our Micro RGB, Neo QLED 8K, Neo QLED 4K and QLED TVs5, giving you even more ways to enjoy the world-first collection.

This collaboration continues Samsung's mission to bring world-class art into homes worldwide. By partnering with prestigious institutions like the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, Samsung Art Store makes museum collections accessible to broader audiences while offering art institutions new ways to extend their exhibitions' reach and impact.

The Of Light and Air: Winslow Homer in Watercolor collection joins Samsung Art Store's roster of museum partnerships, including ongoing collaborations with The Museum of Modern Art, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and Musée d'Orsay.

This collection represents just one facet of the Samsung Art Store's diverse portfolio, which features something for everyone across a vast selection of mediums, artists, genres, and colors. From contemporary photography and classical paintings to abstract digital art and emerging artists' works, the Art Store's expansive collection ensures consumers can find pieces that perfectly match their style, home décor, and mood.
