WASHINGTON, D.C. (Mar. 5, 2026) -Congresswoman Nancy Mace (SC-01) released the following statement tonight after the U.S. House of Representatives again passed a bill to fund the Department of Homeland Security, despite the Left's attempts to block it:
"Keeping Americans safe is non-negotiable, and so is funding the people who do it.
"Tonight, the House passed funding for the Department of Homeland Security, ensuring ICE, CBP, the Coast Guard, FEMA, FLETC, TSA, the U.S. Secret Service, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, and critical anti-trafficking programs can continue their work without interruption.
"With ongoing conflict in the Middle East and Iran-backed terrorist groups operating across the globe, this vote was a no-brainer, yet the Left still continues to oppose ending this costly and dangerous shutdown of DHS.
"Funding DHS ensures the men and women protecting our communities have every resource they need to do their jobs and keep our country safe.
"Tonight the Left made their priorities clear, and it wasn't the American people. We voted to protect the homeland, and Americans are safer because of it.
"Now the Senate must reverse course and get this bill passed. No excuses."
