City of Frederick to Host Cultural Asset Mapping Workshop for Residents of East Frederick

The City of Frederick invites residents from the East side of Frederick to participate in a cultural asset mapping workshop on Wednesday, January 29, from 5 to 7 pm at the C Burr Artz Public Library Community Room.

Co-hosted by East Frederick Rising, the interactive workshop invites residents to be a part of identifying the cultural assets, the people, places, events and organizations, that serve as cultural anchors in their communities. Through collaborative exercises and guided discussions, we will work together to share and understand the cultural resources that are most important to residents of the east side of the City of Frederick.

The workshop is part of a broader Cultural Asset Mapping initiative, a community-developed list of places and resources that have cultural value to City of Frederick Residents. Residents are invited to add their responses to an open survey at https://frederickmd.gov/culturalassetmap. The results will be shared via a forthcoming interactive map on the City's website and will inform the City's future arts and culture strategies.

Community organizations and residents are encouraged to host their own Cultural Asset Mapping workshops to help ensure that all parts of the City are represented. If you're interested in organizing a workshop, please contact Laila Jadallah, Manager of Arts and Culture, at [email protected]. Your participation is invaluable in shaping a comprehensive and inclusive map of the City's cultural assets.
