Nominate Members for the Sport Fishing and Boating Partnership Council

NOAA Fisheries announces a call for nominations for the Sport Fishing and Boating Partnership Council, a Federal Advisory Committee. The council provides advice to the Secretary of Commerce and the Secretary of the Interior on aquatic conservation and restoration endeavors in fresh, estuarine, and marine environments that:

  • Benefit recreational fishery resources
  • Enhance recreational boating
  • Encourage partnerships among industry, the public, and government to advance these efforts

The council allows the Department of Commerce and the Department of the Interior to leverage the expertise of their stakeholders to improve conservation and recreation programs affecting the boating and angling public and aquatic resources conservation community. Council members also provide their unique perspectives on federal fishing and boating programs, permitting issues, and outreach and education initiatives.

  • Director of NOAA Fisheries
  • Director of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service
  • President of the Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies

Other Members

The council includes 16 members who are senior-level representatives of recreational fishing, boating, and aquatic resource conservation organizations. Three alternate members may also be selected.
