PT TIMAH Tbk Gives Christmas Gifts to the Christian Community, Demonstrating Its Commitment to Supporting Diversity and Religious Harmony

PANGKALPINANG -- PT TIMAH Tbk has demonstrated its commitment to maintaining diversity and interfaith harmony by providing Christmas gifts for the Christian community through various social care programs. The assistance was realized in the form of building livable homes, supporting Christmas celebration activities, and providing aid for the construction of a church funeral home.

This assistance is part of the company's Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program, which is carried out continuously to deliver tangible benefits to communities in the company's operational areas while strengthening the values of togetherness.

The Christmas gift from PT TIMAH Tbk was also directly felt by Ernawati (45), also known as Aling, a resident of Padang Baru Village, Pangkalan Baru District, Central Bangka Regency.

Aling could not hold back her tears as she occupied a livable home for the first time, built through a collaboration between PT TIMAH Tbk and the village government some time ago.

Previously, Aling and her child lived in a house that was in very poor condition and nearly collapsed. She expressed deep gratitude and happiness, as she never expected to receive such assistance.

"I am so happy to receive a new home from PT TIMAH Tbk. I have long hoped that my house could be repaired, but PT TIMAH instead built me an entirely new home. Thank you, PT TIMAH, for helping me have a proper place to live," said Aling.

Pastor Gustav Rawing, Shepherd of the Bethel Indonesia Church congregation, expressed his appreciation for PT TIMAH Tbk's support in helping one of their congregation members who was truly in need.

"On behalf of the entire congregation, I would like to sincerely thank PT TIMAH Tbk for giving special attention to one of our members who is economically underprivileged," he said.

According to him, this assistance is a special Christmas gift for Aling and her family, reflecting PT TIMAH Tbk's care and concern. He also offered prayers for the company to continue thriving.

In addition, PT TIMAH Tbk also provided assistance for the construction of the Bakti Kasih Funeral Home in Menjelang Subdistrict, Mentok District, West Bangka Regency. This funeral home has become a source of hope for members of the Catholic Church of the Parish of Saint Mary, Protector of Sailors.

Pastor Raymond stated that the presence of a funeral home is greatly needed, especially for parishioners who live far from the city center and do not have a proper place to lay their loved ones to rest.

"This funeral home provides a dignified and peaceful place for grieving families. It is an important facility so that the final rites can be carried out with greater respect," he said.

Rina Megawati, a member of the Church Holy Day Committee at GPIB Bethesda, stated that PT TIMAH Tbk is a company that consistently supports religious activities at their church.
