Tonight, Donald Trump's biggest loyalists are gathering to plot their cover-up of the Jeffrey Epstein scandal. After Trump's administration redacted his name from the Epstein files and offered favors to Epstein's Chief Accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell, while she covers for him, Trump and his cronies are desperately attempting to hide the truth from the American people.
In response, DNC Rapid Response Director Kendall Witmer released the following statement:
"We're witnessing a government cover-up in real time: Donald Trump's cronies - led by Vice President J.D. Vance - are gathering behind closed doors tonight to try to clean up this massive scandal. But unfortunately for Trump, the American people aren't falling for his lies. Trump will stop at nothing to protect himself and his circle of rich and powerful elites - even at the expense of their victims. Despite his attempts to change the conversation or bury the evidence, this scandal isn't going away."
Let's remember how we got here. Trump - who called for the release of Epstein files - has failed to release the files and now claims they are fake. Two days after Epstein's accomplice and convicted sex trafficker, Ghislaine Maxwell, met with a senior Justice Department official who was Trump's criminal defense lawyer, she was quietly moved to a "less restrictive" facility. Trump also refused to rule out a pardon for Maxwell - and continues to claim he has the "power" to grant her freedom. Now - with her potential pardon on the line - Maxwell is conveniently claiming that Trump never did anything wrong.
As the news of the meeting came out, the family of Virginia Giuffre slammed the Trump administration for shutting out the survivors of Epstein and Maxwell's heinous crimes and continuing to protect these convicted sex traffickers.
Vance is now trying to cover Trump's tracks - but Vance can't hide the fact that he promised to release the Epstein Files too.
It appears that Trump is in the business of helping sex offenders. This meeting comes shortly after Diddy's team confirmed that they are in talks with Trump officials about a pardon for his prostitution-related offenses too.
