ATLANTA (August 31, 2026) -On Friday, September 4, the Senate Study Committee on Adoption and Permanency Affordability, chaired by Senate Majority Whip Randy Robertson (R-Cataula), will hold its first hearing.

ABOUT THE MEETING:
The Senate Study Committee on Adoption and Permanency Affordability, created through Senate Resolution 771, will evaluate Georgia's adoption systems for potential improvements through legislative, administrative or fiscal reforms. This bipartisan study committee will hear from families, policy experts and representatives from state agencies and private organizations. The study committee will explore ways to ensure safe and permanent family placements for children who cannot remain with their biological families.
