TRAFFIC ALERT - Sussex County - Closure of Old Racetrack Road between Brick Manor Road and N. 2nd Street
Closure of Old Racetrack Road between Brick Manor Road and N. 2nd Street
Delmar - Delmarva Central Railroad forces will be performing track rehabilitation, resurfacing and general maintenance on their crossing on Old Racetrack Road estimated to begin at 6:00 am on Saturday, November 8, 2025. The work will require the full closure of Old Racetrack Road. Message Boards will be posted in advance, advising motorists of the closure.
A vehicular detour will be posted as follows:
Eastbound: Old Racetrack Road to Saint George Road to Delmar Road to State Road to Bi-State Blvd to Old Racetrack Road.
Westbound: Old Racetrack Road to Bi-State Blvd to State Road to Delmar Road to Saint George Road to Old Racetrack Road.
The closure will be in place 24 hours per day. The work is expected to be completed, and the detour lifted no later than 10:00 pm on Monday, November 10, 2025.
