Santa Rosa County BOCC Meeting Highlights

Exciting things coming to Santa Rosa County:

National Military Appreciation Month

The Santa Rosa County Board of County Commissioners proclaimed May as National Military Appreciation Month to remember those who gave their lives in defense of freedom and to honor the men and women of all our Armed Services who have served and are now serving our Country, together with their families.

Building Safety Month

The Santa Rosa County Board of County Commissioners proclaimed May Building Safety Month in recognition of Santa Rosa County building code staff's commitment to improve building safety, resilience and economic investment at home and in the community, and the essential service provided to all of us by local, state, tribal, territorial, and federal building safety and fire prevention departments, in protecting lives and property.

Tribute to Mr. Maxwell from Central High School

The Santa Rosa County Board of County Commissioners presented a proclamation to Mr. Ken Maxwell for his passion for educating his students at Central High School through his World History, Economics, and US Government classes. Mr. Maxwell consistently seeks out ways to engage his students in government at the local, state, and federal level and had the largest Civics learning gains in the entire county on the Florida Civics Literacy Exam. He, with the support of the Supervisor of Elections Office, registered more seniors to vote than any other high school in our district.
