GAHANNA, Ohio - AEP Ohio is becoming Ohio Power Company and introducing a redesigned monthly electric bill to give customers clearer, easier-to-understand information about their electric service and costs. Beginning Oct. 1, customers will start seeing the Ohio Power Company name on the company's website, bills, customer communications and other materials. The change brings greater visibility to the company's long-standing legal name while reinforcing its commitment to the 1.5 million customers it serves across Ohio.
Ohio Power also will be providing customers with clearer information about their electric service and costs. In October, customers will begin receiving a new, transparent, redesigned monthly electric bill, approved earlier this year by the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO). This new format will make it easier for customers to see and understand the charges included in an electric bill in Ohio, identify their generation supplier and understand how distribution, transmission and generation costs contribute to their total bill. It also will provide monthly energy-use information to help customers make more informed decisions about their electricity use.

"Our role is to safely and reliably deliver electricity and serve the nearly 1,000 communities that depend on us each day. The redesigned bill makes it easier for customers to understand what they are paying for, what costs Ohio Power controls and what costs customers can control themselves. It's just one way we are working to provide enhanced transparency for Ohioans."
Under Ohio law, Ohio Power is a distribution-only utility. The company delivers electricity to homes and businesses but does not generate electricity or profit from generation purchased on a customer's behalf. Additional information about the redesigned bill is available at OhioPowerCo.com/Bill.

"Our 1,400 employees live and work in the communities they call home - keeping the lights on, responding when severe weather strikes and serving their neighbors with their time and talents."
Ohio Power's commitment to Ohio extends beyond delivering reliable electric service. Through September 2026, employees volunteered more than 3,330 hours across the state, and the Ohio Power Company Foundation, formerly the AEP Ohio Foundation, has donated $1.3 million to 131 organizations across Ohio this year.
The transition to Ohio Power does not affect customers' electric service, account information, rates or how they contact the company. Customers do not need to take any action and can continue using the company's mobile app, existing customer service numbers and current payment options. The company's website, AEPOhio.com, will transition to OhioPowerCo.com in October. Visitors to AEPOhio.com will be automatically redirected to the new site.
