Ramona Avenue, at the intersection with South Nevada Avenue, will close through mid-August starting on Monday, July 14 at 7 a.m. for the City of Colorado Springs' South Nevada Avenue Traffic Signal Improvements Project.
Access to nearby businesses and properties will remain open, and traffic going north and south on South Nevada Avenue won't be impacted.
This closure allows crews to begin safety and mobility upgrades, including new traffic signals, ADA-compliant curb ramps, and streetscape improvements.
While Ramona Avenue is closed, drivers should go around the intersection:
On-street parking within the work zone will be restricted. Customers visiting nearby businesses should use the strip mall parking lot located just north of Ramona Avenue.
The City, in partnership with the Colorado Department of Transportation, is upgrading two intersections along S. Nevada Avenue (Colorado State Highway 115) at Ramona Avenue and St. Elmo Avenue. The project will replace aging traffic signal infrastructure and provide critical safety upgrades for pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers. The work also supports the South Nevada Urban Renewal Plan, which focuses on revitalizing this key corridor. For more information, please visit coloradosprings.gov/SouthNevadaSignals.
