Captive Review Names Comerica Bank Collateral Specialist of Year

DALLAS, September 17, 2025 - Captive Review, a trusted voice for the risk management and captive insurance communities, has named Comerica Bank as the 2025 U.S. Captive Services Collateral Specialist of the Year.

This award is the seventh time since 2014 that Comerica has received the Collateral Specialist of the Year and the eighth award received by Comerica from Captive Review.

"We value our relationships with our customers and our role as trusted advisors to help them succeed on their business journeys" said Martin Ellis, Comerica Bank Senior Vice President and Manager of the Global & Captive Insurance Group. "This prestigious award in the captive industry is a testament to our colleagues who work diligently to put our customers first, and we are honored to be recognized by Captive Review as leaders in captive insurance banking services."

The Captive Review Awards celebrate companies, teams, and individuals who demonstrate excellence, innovation, and impactful contributions across the captive insurance sector.

The awardees are chosen through a judging panel of industry experts, ensuring that those truly pushing the boundaries of service and performance are recognized and celebrated for their exceptional contributions.

From the Captive Review judges: "Comerica stands out as one of the few banks offering both major collateral types-letters of credit (LOCs) and reinsurance trusts-tailored to client needs. Their expertise in 'back-to-back' LOCs, supported by the largest approved bank list in the sector, streamlines processes and reduces costs. They demonstrate strong client satisfaction."

"Their NAIC-approved, highly rated facilities have universal acceptance without requiring additional confirmations. Testimonials and positive feedback highlight their breadth of services, user-friendly systems, and active presence across U.S. domiciles."

Overall, Comerica has been honored by Captive Review 12 times since 2014, either as a Finalist or a Winner. Last year, Comerica was named Captive Collaboration Project Winner.

As a leader in the captive industry, Comerica Bank's Captive Insurance Banking group provides specialized banking services for captive insurance companies, including letters of credit, reinsurance trusts, trust custody, and asset and treasury management services.
