RAPID CITY - U.S. Attorney Ron Parsons announced today that U.S. District Judge Camela C. Theeler has sentenced a Mexican man convicted of Illegal Reentry after Deportation. The sentencing took place on September 18, 2026.
Marco Jimenez-Sanchez, 38, was sentenced to time served. He will be deported back to Mexico.
Jimenez-Sanchez was indicted for Illegal Reentry after Deportation by a federal grand jury in June 2026. He pleaded guilty on September 18, 2026.
Jimenez-Sanchez is an alien and Mexican national. He has been deported from the United States on multiple occasions. On May 21, 2026, in Box Elder, SD, Ellsworth Air Force Security Forces and Box Elder Police Department were dispatched after Jimenez-Sanchez was observed crossing a fence into a restricted construction area. Jimenez-Sanchez was not on the list of employees allowed in the restricted area. It is a federal felony for an alien to be present in the United States after deportation and without permission for reentry.
This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative that marshals the full resources of the Department of Justice to repel the invasion of illegal immigration, achieve the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and protect our communities from the perpetrators of violent crime. Operation Take Back America streamlines efforts and resources from the Department's Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETFs) and Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN).
This case was investigated by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Box Elder Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Benjamin Schroeder prosecuted the case.
