LaMalfa Statement on Police Activity at Chico District Office

Washington, D.C.-Congressman Doug LaMalfa (R-Richvale) released the following statement addressing police activity at his district office in Chico this afternoon:

"Earlier today my Chico District Office and the neighboring businesses were evacuated because a clearly disturbed woman dropped off a package and devil worship candle display against "heteronormative, cisgendered, capitalists, ableists" garbage. Thank you to the Chico Police Department for their quick work. I am sorry that they had to expend time and resources on this nonsense.

This is where we are, that many in the opposition clearly cannot stand the commonsense fact that we are working to root out fraud, cut waste, and stop the abuse of taxpayer dollars. They don't want to hear that we can help those truly in need without defrauding the people who pay the bills. That our taxpayers are done paying for illegal aliens to get benefits. That we are going to enforce the border.

The caseworkers and staff at my Chico office spend their days helping constituents navigate problems with government agencies. They are helping fire victims get their tax problems solved, Social Security recipients through the maze of paperwork, and Veterans get appointments and care. They help thousands of constituents every year. Stopping them from working is hurting the very people that have run out of options.

This behavior is an embarrassment to those in opposition of what they believe my team and I are about. Sadly, today was just another example of Trump Derangement Syndrome coming home to Chico."
