Eagle Point Bay Road closure in Johnson and Williamson counties begins June 1

MARION - The Illinois Department of Transportation today announced that Eagle Point Bay Road in Johnson and Williamson counties will be closed beginning Monday, June 1, for repairs on the bridge carrying the road over Interstate 24.

The closure will extend from Illinois 37 to Kelly Lane and is expected to remain in place through July 30, weather permitting.

A marked detour will direct motorists around the work zone via Power Plant Road.

Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changing conditions prior to the work zone, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
