International Day of the Girl: Minister Fir

"On International Day of the Girl, we celebrate both the achievements and the potential of girls across Alberta and around the world. It is a time to recognize girls' contributions, celebrate their ambition and support them to pursue their goals with confidence.

"Alberta's government is committed to ensuring women and girls have access to the education, training and resources to succeed. Through the Women in STEM, Persons Case and Women in Technical and Applied Arts scholarships, we are supporting young women to pursue opportunities in fields where they have been underrepresented. We believe every girl should have opportunities to develop her talents and build a meaningful career and future.
