Who can participate? The survey is open to all public service employees in the Department of National Defence up to and including the EX-01or equivalent level. Other restrictions may be imposed as participation quotas are filled; if you are not eligible to participate, you will be automatically redirected after responding to a few initial questions. The survey is available in English and French.

When can I participate, and what is the time commitment? The survey is available until January 30th or until the target sample size is reached. It should take approximately 15-20 minutesto complete and can be completed in multiple sessions, as long as you use the same browser every time and finish within one week after entering your first response.

Who is conducting the survey? This survey is part of a federal research initiative under the Action Plan for Black Public Servants named "UNTAP: Uncovering Needs, Talent, and Potential," which aims to support more inclusive and effective career development practices across the public service. This initiative is co-ledby the Treasury Board Secretariat's Task Force for Black Public Servants and Privy Council Office's Impact and Innovation Unit.

The Department of National Defence is one of the partners on this research initiative. The results of the survey will inform the development of solutions to career barriers for Black public service employees in the near term, with the potential for expansion to broader groups in the longer term.
