SCDOT temporarily closes part of US 25/178/221 Bypass in Greenwood County for repairs

Columbia, S.C. (January 8, 2025)- The South Carolina Department of Transportation has temporarily closed part of the US 25/178/221 Bypass in Greenwood County to make repairs to the roadway. A water line break has closed the southbound direction between Reynolds Avenue and Emerald Road.

These repairs are being expedited and we will share more information on reopening when we can.

As part of this closure, a detour has been set up using US 221, Old Brickyard Road, Evans Pond Road and Emerald Road. A map of the detour can be found below. SCDOT asks trucks to consider using the western bypass of Calhoun Road and US 225.

SCDOT encourages drivers to slow down and pay attention when driving through work zones.
