Phone calls between Ibrahimović and Foreign Ministers of Lebanon and Cyprus on the security situation in the Middle East

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ervin Ibrahimović held separate telephone conversations with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants of the Republic of Lebanon Youssef Rajji and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus Constantinos Kombos regarding the current security situation in the Middle East and its broader regional implications.

During the conversation with Minister Rajji, Ibrahimović conveyed words of support and solidarity to the states affected by recent attacks, emphasizing that de-escalation and the avoidance of further escalatory actions are of particular importance at this moment, as they could further threaten regional stability. He also highlighted the importance of intensifying diplomatic efforts aimed at restoring security and stability in the Middle East, which is crucial for regional and global security.

During the conversation with Minister Kombos, the interlocutors also discussed the security situation in the Eastern Mediterranean, including the recent drone attack on a British military base located on the territory of Cyprus. Ibrahimović expressed Montenegro's full solidarity with Cyprus, emphasizing support for calls for maximum restraint, while at the same time ensuring the security of the territory of the European Union.

He also thanked the authorities of Cyprus for their support and assistance in organizing the safe return of the Montenegrin delegation that participated in the General Affairs Council (GAC) meeting of the European Union.

The interlocutors agreed that close coordination and the exchange of information should continue in the upcoming period in order to monitor the security situation and support regional stability.
