Southeast Missouri State University President Dr. Brad Hodson is recognizing local business and community partners following national recognition naming Cape Girardeau as the 5th Best Small College Town in America by USA Today.
"Thank you, to the community, to each and every person, who make this town a home for the 9,000 students who come here every fall," said Hodson. "Many of them are returning to campus, but many of them are new. Finally, you have received the recognition that you've so richly deserved."
Cape Girardeau's blend of small-town hospitality and growing opportunities earned the national distinction. The historic downtown, Mississippi Riverfront, local restaurants and shops, parks and trails, arts scene, and community events contribute to the experience students and families find while attending SEMO.
I'M INTERESTED IN VISITING CAMPUS
Hodson said the recognition confirms what many students, alumni and residents already know about the community.
"This recognition gives evidence to what Sue and I knew immediately when we moved here-this is a very special place," said Hodson.
Southeast Missouri State University continues to partner with businesses and organizations across the region to strengthen economic growth, support workforce development and enhance the student experience both on campus and throughout Cape Girardeau.
